What is Automatic Optical Detection (AOI)

Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) in the SMT patch is an automatic visual inspection made by a printed circuit board. Among them, the camera automatic scanning device has disaster faults (such as lack of components) and quality defects.

Because it is a non-contact test method, it is often used in the manufacturing process. The high reliability of the Multi-CB multi-layer circuit board is guaranteed.

It is particularly important for the following application areas:

Line width illegal

Illegal

Excess copper

Lack

Short circuit

high frequency

High power load

advantage

The circuit board is produced after SMT is detected. According to its visual method, the AOI test can be used to detect many surface defects, such as opening, short circuit, error elements, missing components, etc.

The following are the advantages of the AOI test:

Multi-Test Object-AOI test is not only suitable for PCB, but also for PCB assembly. For PCB, inspection defects, such as short circuit, opening, and lack of welded. For PCBA processing,

Low cost – Compared with automatic X-ray detection (AXI), AOI costs lower costs when detecting solder joint defects

Good flexibility – AOI tests can be arranged at any stage of the manufacturing process as needed and cost to withstand ability. In order to reduce the corresponding costs and improve detection efficiency, SMT manufacturers are best placed to perform AOI testing after return welding. Because most defects are caused by failure during welding. The good and flexible performance of the AOI test has resulted in lower costs. Because once the problem is found, the manufacturing or assembly parameters can be changed immediately so that subsequent products can be produced correctly.
